Feast of the Hunters Moon

Went to the feast of Hunter's moon on Saturday. Mom went with us and then we saw Chris and Jen there. Neat time. One bad thing was they had a fortune teller there. That is a bad deal. It is a sin to use them.

I will post my top 10 best read books.

October has flown by timewise. I cannot believe next week is the end of October. No real new news. I am still learning my new job.
Things I am thankful for is the following:
Megan was pitching to me and I hit the ball and it hit her in the chest. She lost her breath. Thankfully she was okay.

LONG TIME NO POST

I haven"t wrote for awhile. came home for Labor Day. Rod Steffen visited in September, hopefully next year we can go golfing. The children continue to grow. I worked in the fields a couple Saturdays. God has been good to me.
I predict Purdue to lose to Ohio State this weekend. However Purdue will still have a good year.

Time Changer and the Smokey's

This weekend I went to the Smokey's. God's creation at the Great Smokey national park is amazing. We hiked up on one of the falls where it is about 2.6 miles round trip with the group. I got to stick my head in a waterfall.
I saw the movie Time Changer again. Great movie that talks about how far off we are from being like Jesus. With Jesus though we can be clean and forgiven.

Cubs, work, family

A couple days ago the Chicago Cubs were in first place in their division barely ahead of the Milwalkee Brewers. Today they are in second again however they got good momentum. Soriano is doing a good job, Zambrano is pitching well, and Kerry Woods is back.
Work wise I am struggling only selling 5 buildings in 10 weeks. I need to get back on pace or I could get let go. I have big decisions to make with God's guidance.
Familywise everything is going well, God has blessed us tremendously. Isaiah I thought had a knee injury however he is okay. Went to Lake Maxinkucee with Josh and Jonell last Saturday and had a good time. The water was great, good temperature.
Here is a picture being in Marengo cave.

Caves

I am back at work now on my lunch break. I went to caves at Spring Mill State Park and then we went to Marengo cave. Those were cool. At the Spring Mill State Park, near Mitchell, IN there is a cave called Donaldson cave where you can walk on the dry side of the cave and then inside there is a small opening where you can continue to go back. Very cool. Michaela, Megan and I went in about 150 feet I would guess and then I shut off our lights and we were scared. We also went on a boat ride through Twin caves at the park, cheap only $3 per person and after you go back about 1/8 of a mile(i am guessing) he shuts off the lights and it is pitch black. He tells us that your eyes never adjust to the dark. It makes me thankful for light. It also makes me think of Jesus being the light of the world and how hell will be dark like that only worse with fire.
I would like to go speulunking(I know it is misspelled) sometime in another cave that is private. If anyone knows of any private caves let me know.

Creation Musuem

Today my family went to the Creation Museum near Cincinnati, Ohio. It was neat. It talks about how God is our creator according to the Bible. It gives information on time lines are that the Earth is about 6,000 years old and they bring up good points why. Everyone should go and visit. Also we need to see the Bible as truth. Their website is the following: http://www.creationmuseum.org My kids liked it. The planterium was neat. Right now we are staying in a motel near the museum. Then tomorrow on to camping.

Cherries and sand dunes

Yesterday we went cherry picking at Calderwood farms in Michigan off exit 16 near Bridgman. Great place to go. We have been going there the past couple of years. Good cherries. Deana got sour cherries for her pies and then we got sweet cherries to eat. It was cold outside however we still went to Warren Dunes State Park and climbed the sand dunes. Lots of fun. God's creation is amazing. The lake felt like 50 degrees however we put our feet in and skipped rocks.

Culver, Indiana

This past Memorial weekend, my brother and his wife and my family went to Culver. It was my brother's idea. It was a nice time. The weather was great. Even though we did not have a boat I still enjoyed being outside and swimming in the lake water. It was fantastic. The month of May flew by. June should be a fast paced month with baseball for the children, etc. A neat site about playing chess is www.chessmaniac.com. I also found a good site for Bible Studies.

Over and out,

May is going fast

Already May is half over. My daughter, Michaela is 8 years old. Time goes fast. One goal of mine is to be able to make decisions better. I need to focus on that. Garden is planted and beans are coming up.

The Cubs

Baseball season is approaching. My son and 2 daughters are playing this summer, that will be exciting. Megan and Isaiah are on the same team and Michaela is in the older league. This is their first time to play baseball. My favorite team the Chicago Cubs are already struggling this year. They paid big money for their center fielder, Soranio or something like that. He is now hurt and the Cubbies have not been doing well. They were winning 5 to 0 last Friday with Zambrano hitting a home run however they ended up losing. I think that they can come back though.
I will write later on my children's baseball.

Intoxicated with Babylon

Intoxicated with Bablyon is by Steve Gallagher. It is one of the best books that I have ever read on Christianity. I didn't skim it I read it. It talks about living a holy life and how we the church are in trouble. Kosmos or the world system that was instituted back during Babylon is taking over the world. Only in Jesus can we stand. There is a good chapter about TV and how it influences our lives. May God be merciful to us in these last days. I need to make sure I repent in my life and make myself clean through Jesus.

Easter

It is the day after Easter and I am thankful. Yesterday I was able to teach Sunday school on the importance of Resurrection of Jesus Christ. That is the only hope any one of us has.
I just had my biggest sale and I am thankful for that. My children we signed up for baseball, Isaiah is in tee ball, megan is in teeball and Michaela is in baseball. Well April is going fast and March is already gone. Hopefully 2007 will have a beautiful Spring and good planting season.

Chris Hartley and Purdue basketball

Chris Hartley it seems used to play quite a bit in 2004, 05, and 06. This year I havn't seen him to much. I think it is a good sports display for him to stick out the season and to be quoted in the paper that he enjoyed the year is good for fans to see. The team concept and not a selfish concept. I believe he deserves a round of applause for that.
My prediction is that Purdue will beat Iowa in the tourney and then play in the NCAA tournament. We will see what happens.

February closing out

February has been flying by. Been a busy month. Purdue is doing well in basketball after a big win over Indiana. Would still be nice to snow ski however the time is getting short to do that.

Snow Skiing

Snow skiing is awesome. Last week my family and I went skiing at Cascade Mountain in Wisconsin. They had made snow since there was no other snow around. Josh, Jonell, Michaela, Megan, Carmen, Deana, and I were the ones that snow skied and mom stayed in the lodge with Zachary and Isaiah. We got there around 11:15am and left about 6:30pm. It was a fun time and I look forward to snowskiing again. My goal is to someday ski in Colorado. I have heard from my friend Grant Gudeman that it can take 15 minutes to up to the top using a lift and then it takes a long time to get down. Maybe I can be in the next winter Olympics. That would take to much training however.
